Strike Days

Dear parent(s)/guardian(s),

Please refer to the information below regarding upcoming strike days and school events:

Strike Day Information

You may have heard that all unionized employees (teachers, support staff, daycare personnel, caretakers and professionals) have voted in favour of six (6) days of strike.

The first strike day is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th, 2015.  As a result, all elementary schools, including daycare services, will be closed.

Other strike days are also scheduled to take place in the weeks to come.  They are as follows:

November 16th and 17th, 2015

December 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2015

School Events and Celebrations

All non-academic/non- humanitarian events have been postponed until further notice.  This includes any and all Halloween celebrations, including coming to school in costume, distributing prizes/treats, visiting a haunted house, classroom parties, etc…  Students are asked to come to school in dress code as they would on a regular school day.  However, our humanitarian efforts of supporting the Free the Children campaign is still in effect.  If you would like to show your support, your child may donate a non-perishable item on October 30, 2015.

Rest assured that I will keep you informed of any and all developments which may occur in the upcoming weeks. Please refer to our monthly calendar, newsletters and website for regular updates.

I thank you in advance for your understanding and support during these pressure tactics.  I apologize for any inconvenience these closures may have on you and your family.

Regards,

Mrs. A. Scrocca
Interim Principal
