Welcome Day & Terry Fox
On September 4th, our school was treated to a day of fun in the sun as we celebrated Welcome Back Day. Students had the opportunity to enjoy games, inflatables and delicious beaver tails. Thank you to the Home and School Association and our Grade 6 team of teachers and students for organizing such a wonderful school-wide event.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff, spiritual & community animator and parents for your support with our Terry Fox run. It is with great pride that we dressed up as our favorite superheroes to celebrate a great Canadian hero, Terry Fox. Congratulations to our school team and community for raising over $400.00. I invite you to visit the MEDIA link on our school website to enjoy the news coverage featuring our school.
Saving for the future
On October 6, students from kindergarten to Grade 2 will receive an information session on saving for future goals. A representative from a local banking institution will lead a session on saving, encouraging students to make regular contributions to a savings account. Additional information to parents will be forthcoming.
Mr. Vince Lacroce, in partnership with Mme. Lise, will be organizing a Thanksgiving assembly on October 9th, 2015. Students will be sharing poems and songs which focus on giving thanks for the many gifts and treasures which surround us (e.g. family, friends, teachers, etc…).
PELO classes will begin the week of October 20. For the time being, we will only be offering Italian classes. Should a Spanish teacher become available, we will then schedule a Spanish class. More information to follow in the upcoming weeks.
As per QPAT directives (Quebec Association of teachers), progress reports will be distributed to parents no later than October 23rd, 2015
Students are encouraged to come to school in costume however, no face masks or toy weapons will be permitted. Students will also be invited to visit a haunted house and be treated to spooky games/centers.
School & Lunch Fees
This is a gentle reminder for parents to pay outstanding school and/or lunch fees. School fees for kindergarten are $90.00 and $105.00 for Grade 1-6. Lunch fees are $225.00 for all students.

For the second year in a row the English Montreal School Board has recorded the highest success (graduation) rate in the entire province of Quebec among public school boards, figures released by The Ministère de l’Education, de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MEESR) show.
The 87.9 percent mark is based on a seven year cohort, meaning it followed the progression of students from 2007 to their graduating year in 2014. It is in line with last year’s total of 87.8 percent. Visit www.emsb.qc.ca for more info.

Feed your soul
Mindfulness incorporates attention to your senses and everything around you. It is important for a child and their surrounding support system to be balanced both in mind and heart. We encourage parents and students to visit the www.AnxiousFreeChild.com website to learn more about how mindful can help children achieve attention, balance and compassion.
