February 2015

Dear Parents,

Although the month of February is short and normally very cold, we will enjoy many pleasant and heart-warming events.  From February 2nd to February 6th, we are celebrating Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week.  During this time we acknowledge teachers and staff, as the heart and soul of our school.  We praise all our educators for their undivided attention, dedication, sense of professionalism, hard work and caring attitude in inspiring and motivating our children to be life-long learners. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, students will be permitted to dress for the occasion on Friday February 13th by wearing red or pink, instead of the usual dress code colors.

TERM 2 REPORT CARDS

On Wednesday February 25th, students will be receiving their second term report card. For this term however, parent-teacher conferences will be held upon request. Should your child’s teacher request an interview with you, an appointment will be set for you at a convenient time. If your child’s teacher does not need to see you at this time but you would still require an interview, please send the teacher a note and arrangements will be made. The day set aside for the parent teacher conferences is Thursday February 26th from 2:30-5:30 & 6:30-8:30. **IMPORTANT NOTE: The school will remain closed between 5:30-6:30p.m. for supper break.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

I would like to thank the entire Nesbitt community for making our first Book Fair in November a huge success. Parents and students successfully raised over $2700 for the school.

FEBRUARY 13th, A PINK and RED DAY

On Friday February 13th, your child may dress in pink or red for Valentine’s Day.  Today we will all make an extra effort to be more caring and compassionate towards our peers.

STAR CITIZENS

We invite you to take a look at our STAR CITIZEN bulletin board by the school’s main entrance. Every month, one student per class is selected by his/her teacher in recognition of a good deed.  Congratulations to all our stars this month!

MARCH BREAK

The March break this year will start on Monday March 2nd and run through Friday March 6th.  Classes will resume again on Monday March 9th. Kindly note that the school daycare will also remain closed during this period.

Respectfully,
Elena Zervas
