Gotcha moments and recess stars
Over 80 students were recognized during our monthly assembly for their acts of kindness, citizenship, being respectful towards our staff and students, etc… Congratulations to all our Gotcha recipients.
Room 12 and 14 were also applauded for their efforts in receiving the most recess stars. Stars classes are selected on the basis of the best line-up (smiles included). Teachers on supervision select the best class and award them a star. At the end of each month, the class with the most stars wins a special activity such as free dress down, extra recess, Mr. Freeze party, etc…
Saving for the future
On October 4th, students from kindergarten to Grade 2 will receive an information session on saving for future goals. A representative from a local banking institution will lead an information session on saving and encourage students to make regular contributions to a savings account. Additional information to parents will be forthcoming.
Mr. Vince Lacroce, in partnership with our student council and Mme. Lise will be organizing a Thanksgiving assembly on October 7th, 2016. Our theme this year is “The Giving Tree”. Students will be sharing poems and songs which focus on giving thanks for the many gifts and treasures which surround us (e.g. family, friends, teachers, etc…).
Saving the world one lunch at a time
Environmental awareness and raising consciousness about carbon footprint is a topic of much discuss. At Nesbitt, we are trying to increase student awareness and increase efforts in become ego-friendly citizens. This is why Wednesdays and Fridays have been deemed litter less lunch days. Please encourage your children to bring in reusable containers, utensils, water bottles, etc… Every effort counts! If you would like to learn more about local ego-friendly services, simply visit:
Our breakfast is scheduled to start on October 11th. Participation fee is $45 for 1 child and $75 for 2 or more children. Payment can be made in cash or cheque (payable to Breakfast club of Canada). A payment information notice will be distributed to parents who have registered their children in the breakfast. If you have not yet registered but would like to, please visit our website for the registration form.
PELO classes will begin the week of October 17th. For the time being, we will only be offering Italian classes from grade 1-6. Classes will only be held 1day/wk for 60 minutes (Wednesdays).
School photos will be taking place October 28th. Please ensure that your child is at school on time.

Retakes are only for students who were absent on picture day or whose photo includes: eyes closed, damage to image, etc…You will receive a notice for retakes with your child’s photo should that be the case.
School & Lunch Fees
This is a gentle reminder for parents to pay outstanding school and/or lunch fees. School fees for PreK & Kindergarten are $90.00 and $105.00 for Grade 1-6. Lunch fees are $225.00 for all students.

Please be advised that lunch meal booklets are now available at the main office
(10 tickets for $40.00).
Please have your child come in with the exact amount as we do not have change in the main office. Cheques are also accepted (payable to Nesbitt School)
Change in student schedule
Any change in your child’s dismissal schedule must be reported to the office prior to 1:30 pm. This will help insure that the information is shared with the teacher responsible at the end of the day..
All parents and visitors must report to the office upon entering the school. Parents are not permitted to accompany their child to the classroom in the morning or lunch.
If your child has an early dismissal, please report to the office and your child will be called down.
This is a gentle reminder that our school dress code is white or navy (top) and navy only (bottom). Please ensure that your children respect the dress code.
